   i just bought this book yesterday — i was judging this particular book by its beautiful cover. it paid off. i thought i would read a few pages before bed, and ended up awake until the wee hours. Fuller’s writing is so beautiful and nuanced and always just right. he captures the voice of a great character and the mood of a time not so long ago, yet seemingly a world away. today i found myself in nyc, skipping the express subways, opting for the local trains, and always, reluctant for my ride to end. i can’t wait to finish this book, so i can start reading it again.
